About Being Alone...

"It's much better to be alone and successful
than it is to be in a relationship
and feel like a failure all the time."
"Meredith"
Grey's Anatomy
This was said during tonight's Season 4 premier episode, and it's something that I need to remind myself of during those times when I'm bummed about not being in a relationship. It is SO true, and I know this in my head... it's my heart that doesn't get it sometimes.

Gettin' up Early...

... 5:30am, typically. "Even on weekends?" many
ask me. You bet! Then I get to see incredibly vibrant sunrises like this one this morning.

Then there is the fact that the neighborhood is silent and motionless, except for the stray dog-walker or two. And of course there's the happy birds who are singing outside.

Ten years ago (maybe even five) I never would have imagined I'd turn into a "morning person," but I have, and I love it.

Welcome to Fall!

Testosterone = TROUBLE

These two brothers are a handful. They are getting along well, not as much rattie boxing... arguments... and squeaking, as there was for several months after bringing them home as babies. They must have worked out which one is the alpha rat.

They love to have playtime on my couch with me (with a shower curtain and sheet on the couch of course), but they are also very independent and curious which can get them into trouble if I leave them without supervision. Especially Caleb (top photo)... who will use any way possible to get down off the couch or end table. He then hides under the couch and will not come out, even though he knows his name! Hardy is a better listener, and when he's followed Caleb into trouble (Peer pressure, it's a tough thing... even amongst rats. haha), at least Hardy has returned when I called him.

Anyway, these are the last two of my five rattie's updated pictures. :)

PEACE, BABY!

Peace must be in my genes, as it appears that I've had a liking for peace signs since I was a little girl. How fun this was to see... after receiving a box of old pictures from my Mom a few weeks ago. Some things never change. (I also have a peace sign tattoo on my ankle. Go figure.)

Four Things...

... that you cannot recover.

"The stone... after the throw.
The word... after it's said.
The occasion... after the loss.
and...
The time... after it's gone."

Something I thought about today.
