Expecting Babies

Two birds... House Finches I believe... have nested in my one and only hanging flower pot, just outside my front door.

Shortly after the perfectly round nest was made (which is just amazing to me), there were five eggs in it! I've been watering very carefully, just around the outside edges, as to not get the nest / eggs wet, but to continue to offer a nice home for this little bird family. As I watch these birds, the male and female make a great team, ("Dad" sits on the edge of the planter keeping watch, and "Mom" sits on the eggs).

I can't wait until the babies arrive! It's been since May 26th or 27th that the eggs were layed... I wonder how long until they hatch??

OUCH!

Yesterday's sunshine was brutal on my fair skin. First thing this morning I'll be going to Walgreen's for some Aloe Vera or some Aveeno Oatmeal mosturizing lotion. My legs and arms also received a burn, but not quite as badly as my neck / upper chest. You know that kind of sunburn where you feel like you're cold, but it's not cold at all? Well, that's how I was yesterday late-afternoon / evening (and still this morning).

I'm thinking that sunscreen is my friend and I should use it.

I wanted to get SOME color, and... I got it. Too bad it's probably just going to peel off, and that's always soooooooo attractive. :-/

De-Cluttering / Reorganizing

The better portion of yesterday morning was spent nearly emptying out my storage closet (into my attached carport)... going through boxes, bins, and crates... and trying to make more room and less clutter when I open that door.

This was the end result, and I'm fairly happy with it. I threw out a couple / few boxes worth of "stuff," put some things on Craig's List, and will be trying to figure out what to do with all of my LPs (both 33s and 45s).

Ahhhhhhhh, I feel much better now. Next project... painting my livingroom / kitchen / diningroom. Anyone want to help?

Lovin' it...

"Is that a prairie dog hole with a doormat," you ask?? Yes, it is!

During my walk earlier this evening, I came across this seemingly afluent prairie dog home.

We LOVE our prairie dogs here in Boulder, but I cannot say that I was aware they were being provided with doormats to wipe their little feet on. They may carry disease, but apparently they are clean and tidy. And... CUTE!

This makes me smile!
